Ready for a different kind of Motorcycle repair shop?

Firefly Moto is a Charlottesville-based motorcycle service shop with a purpose. Rather than being profit-centric, the goal of Firefly is to maintain and grow the local riding community. To balance business income against making a difference in the local community. More than just another business, Firefly Moto is an idea, to make the world a better place, to be that light in the dark for the world around us. To make more competent and well-rounded riders and provide support where there currently isn’t.

HOW OUR SERVICE PROCESS WORKS

1. Intake, Pre-Authorized Diagnostic Time & Inspection

When your vehicle arrives at Firefly Moto, you will pre-authorize a set amount of diagnostic time. We will use that time to evaluate the vehicle and determine, to the best of our ability, what repairs are needed. Separate from your pre-authorized time, every vehicle brought into Firefly Moto will receive a multipoint inspection and test ride, regardless of the service requested. This allows us to review the overall condition of the vehicle and identify any additional safety concerns, maintenance needs, or recommended repairs. We will contact you with our findings and recommendations before moving forward with any additional work.

2. Parts & Payment

Firefly Moto is an independent repair shop and does not keep most vehicle-specific parts in stock. If your repair requires parts, we will identify and source the necessary parts and send you a separate parts invoice first. Parts will not be ordered until that invoice has been paid.

3. Parts Arrival

Once payment is received, we will place your order. Most parts arrive within approximately 3–5 business days, but shipping times are estimates and are outside of Firefly Moto’s control. Backorders, supplier delays, and carrier delays may extend this timeframe.

4. Repair Queue

When your parts arrive, your vehicle will continue through our repair queue. Parts arriving does not necessarily mean work will resume immediately. We complete work based on the vehicle’s place in the shop’s active queue and the current shop workload.

5. Completion & Final Invoice

Once all authorized work is complete, you will receive your final invoice. Parts are invoiced separately from the final service invoice. The final invoice will include the remaining charges associated with your service, such as labor, fluids, shop supplies, transportation, etc. You have 3 business days from the invoice date to pay the balance and collect (or have delivered) your vehicle. If the above is not satisfied, starting on the 4th business day, a $5 daily storage fee will be added to your outstanding bill until the vehicle is paid for and either collected or delivered.
